Jes was chosen to participate in Creative Capital Professional Development Retreat "Internet for Artists" presented by the Office of Cultural Development/Division of the Arts in partnership with the Louisiana Partnership for the Arts and the Arts Council of greater Baton Rouge in September.
The Making Room (5 nights of sleep) video portion is showing at the Untitled 7 exhibition at SOO Visual Arts Center in Minneapolis, MN. The juror for the show was Scott Stulen, Artist and Project Director for mnartists.org at the Walker Art Center.
The full installation of Making Room (5 nights of sleep) is included in the Alexandria Museum of Art September Competition. Juror, Kelli Scott Kelley, awarded Jes 2nd Place for her work in the show.
One of Jes' photographs from the Proximity series was included in the June issue of Creative Quarterly.
Jes will be working with flux projects, based in Atlanta, in 2011 to create a public art project, Secrets of Atlanta.
